Clarissa Bonet
Clarissa Bonet is a Chicago-based artist whose work explores issues of urban space in both a physical and psychological context. In featuring urban landscapes as both the background and feature of her works, she adds people for contrast and points of reference, showing the ways in which people interact with these spaces. In planning her work, Clarissa scouts the city of Chicago for locations where she can capture the exact moment of interaction between architectural angles, natural light and shadows. "Natural lighting is a big part of my artistic practice and it can be challenging at times. Part of my working process is wandering the city streets and looking, observing and reacting to the things in front of me. Part of the things I’m looking at while I’m wandering is lighting. I use light as a tool to create a stage for every day, a stage for these small dramas to unfold on.” Watch Clarissa's full IGTV interview
